Amber Lynn Goff, a 24 year old prison gaurd, helped two inmates escape a maximum-security exersise pen in El Dorado Correctional Facility. She is now being charged with three accounts of federal firearms charges in exchange for reduced charges and a five year prison term along with three years probation. She will also pay $11,000.

She helped Jesse Bell and Steven Ford escape in October and they were caught a few days later. Goff thought she was lovestrucken but later found out that there wasn't any love involved in the ordeal. He said that she used bolt cutters to cut through the lock on the outer gate and she drove onto the grounds.

"She also feels like one of the world's greatest fools," her mother, Laurie Ann Nutter, said.

Wow! People are in jail or prison for reasons, whether you believe them to be guilty or not, is not up to you to decide. What if you make the wrong decision and the person you let out was guilt? These people are dangerous and scandalous. If they were sentenced to prison, they must have had a lot of evidence to put them there. I do not know what this woman was thinking. Love or not, it is still wrong. It is pretty sad that you can not trust the people that work at a prison to keep the prisoners there.

I can't believe she would risk her job and future for that. The prisoners obviously did something to be in jail, and as a guard she should understand they deserve to be in there. That prison should be more careful with who they hire, because clearly not anyone is trustworthy enough for that position. I would be interested to know what crimes those prisoners were in jail for and how long they were sentenced to see exactly what she risked herself for.

Oh my goodness. People who get arrested and get thrown in jail or prisons have done something in our society which put them there. The fact that a prison guard is willing to risk her job and risk going to jail just to help three inmates escapes is really scary because what if all guards did that? We would have inmates everywhere. Is she just stupid? She probably could even look at their record and realize they broke the law. I dont know their charges but what if they were murderers or child molesters or something. Why would she want to let someone like that out of prison?!

Ok......since you all seem to have made up your minds WITHOUT the benefit of all the facts here goes. YES I know this girl, YES I know the family very well, and YES by knowing them I am on the inside of this story.
Lets get something straight from the beginning here, something the "officials" try very hard to keep out of the story. SHE WAS THREATENED into doing this. The prison acknowledged this early on, never doubted it. They, the prisoners, threatened her, her children and her family IF SHE did not help them. Foolish on her part? You betcha! Should she of trusted the cops or someone to help her? You bet she should have. But the fact remains she didnt. She had formed a relationship with Ford that allowed him to gain her trust, get all the information he needed to make the threats credible, and then turned it all against her. Foolish on her part? Again....you betcha! But for you all to sit here and say she abandoned her children for the love of a con is crazy especially since NONE OF YOU KNOW HER, or the WHOLE STORY OBVIOUSLY!
Do you know she only stole the guns from her parents house because she was told if she didnt THEY would have it done and kill everyone there leaving no witnesses? Bet you didnt.
Did any of you know that Bell told her in order to prove he could reach her outside the prison walls he would send her kids home with something from him pinned to thier shirts? Bet you didnt.
Did any of you know that this girl still has nightmares of the 3 days she was on the run with them? Bet you didnt.
Do any of you know her personally? No you dont. Do any of you know her family? No you dont. Do any of you have any right to be placing a judgement without all the facts? NO YOU DONT!
You want the WHOLE STORY? Why not ask?
This girls family has offered NO EXCUSES for her what so ever from the start. The cooperated FULLY with law enforcement from the beginning, in fact if it hadn't been for their cooperation they would of never discovered the rental car and direction of travel. THE FAMILY DISCOVERED THAT information NOT THE COPS!
The family has been nothing but honest and forth right from the beginning, offering no excuses, just trying to get people to see that there is more to this story than what is out there, simply asking people to withhold judgement until the time comes when the entire story can be told. And they are now asking that those in the Prison System and the Government conduct a PUBLIC inquiry into what really happened that night. How any of this was possible when it never should of happened.
The mother makes some very good points in her statement, that of course I imagine none of you read, but that can be found on www.kwch.com in full if you really want some interesting reading.
So please, get all your facts straight, quit judging, and keep the nasty name calling to yourselves. Remember it could by YOUR family in the spot light next!

All I was doing was stating what happened from an article that I read. I understand why you are so angry and I'm sorry you feel that way but people are going to believe what they hear. Not everyone has an inside view of what happened. Your fortunate to know what actually happened and I'm sorry that this is the way that it all happened but people have opinions and you would have the same opinion if you didn't know the woman.
